Inception

Chris Nolan‘s Inception is the type of movie where you need to see it from start to finish in order to have a firm grasp of how brilliantly awesome it is. In fact, no matter how many times I say ‘It’s awesome!‘, it’s not even going to amount to anything close to how awesome it is in reality.

It’s not even about the obvious stunning visual effects and the flawless execution of the film. To me, it all boiled down to the story itself which is by far, the most original one I’ve seen in a while. Put that together with a superb cast and the same director that gave birth to The Dark Knight and you have yourself one epic film that deserves a spot on your DVD collection.

It was a little reminiscent of The Matrix but showed more depth and complexities, but it’s not that TOO complex that you’ll be left scratching your head at the end. The entire thing felt like a dream that I wouldn’t mind not waking up from. The awesome visuals merely supported a plot that was well executed and conceptualized. Nolan wouldn’t have to worry about matching the success of The Dark Knight because this has clearly surpassed his previous masterpiece.

If you’re only allowing yourself to watch at least one movie a month, then this gets a very strong recommendation from me. To hell with The Last Airbender! Save yourself the trouble of tormenting yourself with everyone else’s review about the movie because it’s all going to be the same, see for yourself but like all other movies, let go of great expectations.

Seriously, watch it as soon as you can. It doesn’t matter if you’re alone because you probably wouldn’t even notice the people sitting beside you.

I’m resisting all urges to read this because there might be some spoilers and I have been looking forward to this movie since last year and I am about to watch this weekend…

i remember his last movie – shutter island (was that the last before this?) which is some sort of an intellectual fling, feeling ko medyo ganon din ‘to eh.

Now I’m really torn between Mr. Nolan’s Memento and Inception! Urgh!

The loved the concept of the totem and how it was used differentiate reality from a dream…
