Lakbay Bayan: Supporting local tourism

What I love about the local blogging community is how we are able to promote and support places and products in our country. This is our way of getting foreigners who happen to pass by our blogs interested in what we have to offer.

Lakbay Bayan is a local tourism exhibit in Mall of Asia that encourages just that. It tells people to explore the Philippines, to travel our own land and help expose it to the world. T0 take lots of photos and blog about your experiences. I believe that blogging is one of the best ways to promote our local wonders, not just to foreigners but to pure Manileños like me, too!

They sell shirts, too!

This is another project of local graphic design studio Team Manila which was pretty obvious because of all the Helvetica, and they’re selling shirts in the area as well. I wanted to check out the exhibit last week but my sked was pretty busy, so I thought it would be better to check it out yesterday because I have another agenda in MoA that day.

For those who wants to catch the exhibit, you only have until tomorrow, October 27, for it! The whole thing looks very pinoy because of the nice explosion of colors and shapes. And the photographs used were stunning as well, perfect for enticing the crowd to travel more.

It’s actually one of my personal goals this coming year to travel all over the Philippines before I explore better opportunities in Singapore late next year. I’m making it a point to see the sights in our country before I leave because I might decide to stay there for good.

For frustrated travelers out there, let’s all discover the pleasures in our country first! I’m not a travel blogger so I’m suggesting the blogs my travel blogger friends Ada, Chyng, Anton, and Mica.

I wanna buy the white tee! Pag may budget na.
