System Recovery can destroy your life

Getting hit by a stupid irreparable worm/malware virus is like God’s way of telling you “That’s for watching too much porn, kiddo!

Last Wednesday night, a lot of my programs were no longer functioning and I kept getting these weird prompts telling me that my laptop has gone berserk on me. I’ve been using this machine for two years now and it was the only time something like this happened. I’m aware that Windows Vista has a lot of bugs and is prone to viruses, but it was the only laptop I could afford with my own money as a fresh graduate.

So since that tragic night, I wasn’t able to use my laptop and got delayed with a lot of my freelance and personal work. Yesterday, I spent my entire office time backing up my files to an external drive,  reformatting my notebook, transferring back my files, and reinstalling the programs. Just when I thought everything was okay, I tinkered around and realized a few things that will affect my work process.

Photographer for a day

Back in college, Photography was just another subject I took. We were taught a little about travel photography, shooting for fashion, product and food photography, portraiture and photojournalism. Just basic stuff, nothing too fancy. But there’s no doubt about it, taking pictures is fun to do but it wasn’t the kind of job I wanted to pursue after graduating… or so I thought. Continue reading

Dashboard Confessional in Manila

May 27, 2010 marked one of the most memorable moments of my life. Hands down, it was a day I will never forget. After waiting for 8 long years, the only band I ever wanted to see perform live, Dashboard Confessional, graced the stage at the parking area of Trinoma mall in QC. Continue reading

With the finale of American Idol Season 9 just around the corner, a new aspiring artist will soon be awarded the Idol crown of 2010. Going spastic for Dashboard Confessional setlist

All of my close friends, or those who have known me since I was a college freshman, knows that I am a HUGE fan of Dashboard Confessional. They are the only band I’d go great lengths to just to see them in play live here in Manila. So imagine my reaction when I found out last month that they will have a one-night-only concert at the Trinoma parking lot.

The day the tickets got released, I persuaded fellow DC/Chris Carrabba fanatic, Jgo, to book tickets to the show. Now we have VIP tickets and great seats to see and drool over Chris. The only worry I had left was the setlist. I know they are promoting their latest album so I was afraid that they’d leave their old songs to make room for their latest singles. Worry no more!

Cosplay at work?

What a great way to ruin someone’s wonderful Tuesday morning by seeing photos of my face trying to be cute. The props are from my cosplay-loving officemate, Jermaine.

If I were to cosplay an anime or video game character, sino ang bagay?

On the 2010 Elections

The topic of politics has always been something I’ve avoided ever since I can remember. From the moment my grade school Araling Panlipunan teacher forced us to cut newspaper clippings of current events, paste them on a short bond paper, and report them to class, I’ve vowed never to read the newspaper except for the Lifestyle & Entertainment sections.

However, this time around, it’s a little bit different because it’s the first time I am eligible to cast my vote for a president. So who do I vote for? Would it really matter? Continue reading

The Weekenders

While my weekdays have been reserved for 9 hours of work, 2 hours on the road, and 3 hours of surfing por… ermm.. researching online, weekends should be spent for good times with great friends. So after 2 grueling and stressful weeks at work, it was nice to pack the next 24 hours with mini-get-togethers with people I haven’t seen for a looong time.

Hands down

This is the day that I’ve been waiting and longing for in a long time.

After all the crapola that were thrown at me yesterday at work, the only thing that rescued it from being a total shitfest was finding out that my favorite band EVER is finally doing a concert in Manila!  Continue reading

A change is gonna come… eventually

This is what I hate about spending a long weekend alone in my room… I begin to overthink. Thinking too much about stuff leads to realizations about other things. Before I know it, I realized that my life is one big pile of unreached goals topped with false hopes sprinkled with perpetual procrastination.
